Are you interested in serving on the Steering Committee?

The UNM Grand Challenges Program is seeking nominations for individuals interested in serving on the steering committee. The program’s steering committee makes recommendations and provides feedback on current and future grand challenges. The committee seeks faculty, staff, and student representation from all campuses, as well as community member participation. If you are interested or know someone who would make a great addition to the committee, please nominate them here.

The next terms begin in October. The student term is one year with the option to renew for a total of three years; all other terms are three years.

Committee charge

  • Provide feedback and recommendations on Grand Challenge (GC) initiatives, including requests for proposals (RFPs) and opportunities for additional team funding, student fellowship and/or training programs, and others;
  • Monitor GC team progress and provide feedback, recommendations, and/or links to resources to the teams;
  • Review and make recommendations on program applications; and
  • Regularly attend GC public events.
